Europe started looking for india all over the world. This story was taken from the log book diary, which is misbon maritime museum. In 1948 vasco di gama sailed east wards through west coast of africa with Sao Gabriel, which was the largest ship in europe at the time(28 metres) . Following several months of travel,He rounded

the Cape of good hope and following his travel towards eastwards. He lost the sight of
the land during his journey. He scared to move forward. At the time his ship was
guided by indian ships which were ten times bigger than his ship.

When we look at the ship sizes mentioned in the Nava Shastra, the Indian Navigational text, we see that there were indeed ships of the size observed by Vasco da Gama. From these measurements, it is obvious that India had large ships, with industries that built such large ships.
